This club is for 5th grade students who are eager to use the high ropes course in the Skokie gym, join a climbing club session, or who might be apprehensive about the climbing KW unit. The Skokie School Climbing gym uses equipment, protocols and safety measures which are unique to our particular high ropes course. This club will allow students to get a head start on climbing training, allowing them to access the high ropes course before their KW Climbing Unit in late January.
During the 3 meetings, students will become fully trained in all high ropes equipment and safety protocols. By the 3rd meeting they will be able to access the high ropes course and do some exploring. Those who complete the 3 meetings of this club, will be able to assist during training for the Climbing Unit in their regular KW class. Participants will also be eligible to sign up for upcoming Climbing Clubs beginning in December.
The club will meet Wednesdays, November 5th, 12th and 14th, 3:35-4:30pm.
The Climbing Club is for students who would like to climb the Skokie High Ropes Course after school. This is a great way to spend some time climbing in an extended session. All 6th, 7th and 8th graders are allowed to enroll. Sign up with a friend or come to meet new friends!
